Wins for Fisher and Bracegirdle (more photos)

The Wayne Poole Racing team drivers enjoyed plenty of racing at Castle Combe on August 27th with two races for Formula Fords, Saloons and Hot Hatches.

It was just Josh Fisher and Steve Bracegirdle out in their usual Van Diemens for the Formula Ford races. In Race 1 Josh qualified third and Steve eleventh (and second in Class C). Both drivers had excellent races with Josh taking overall victory and Steve finishing eighth and winning Class C with fastest Class Lap. This race marked a milestone for Steve with Wayne Poole Racing as it was his 200th race with the team and it was fitting that he also wrapped up the Class C Championship for the second year in a row.

In Race 2 Josh made a good start to hound early leader, Michael Eastwell's Spectrum, for a few laps but an unsuccessful attempt to take the lead at Quarry resulted in Josh losing the tow and having to settle for second place. Steve's race unfortunately came to an end at Camp on Lap 6 when a rear lower wishbone broke.

Guy Parr joined Steve Bracegirdle in the Saloon Car races with their Mini Coopers, qualifying 30th and 33rd for Race 1 and going on to finish 25th and 27th. Their positions were reversed in Race 2 after Guy Parr had a flying first lap to get up to 21st and the pair finishing in 20th and 22nd.

Guy joined Graham Cox's Renault Clio in the hot hatch races where they qualified 19th and 16th respectively for Race 1. Both drivers had good races with Graham finishing 10th and Guy just behind in 12th. Guy didn't take the start for Race 2 but Graham went on to take a good eighth after a good race with other Clios.
