News > Quiet day at Combe on August 30th and 1 podium

02/09/2010

With two Formula Fords and two GT's the WPR team enjoyed a quieter day than usual at Combe at the late summer Bank Holiday meeting. Best performance came from Guy Parr in his Nemesis in the GT race where he qualified third in Class A and finished in the same position. Des Andrews stalled his Radical at the start and faced an uphill battle during the race to get out of the midfield. Pete Diccox had a good race in his Van Diemen RF89 after a a broken plug lead curtailed his practice to only three laps. Another cracking start from the back of the grid saw Pete get up to third in Class C which he only lost as a result of the safety car. A number of laps in the low 1m 16s confirmed his good run. Steve Bracegirdle wasn't quite able to repeat his good testing form but managed to finish the race without mishap.
