Peter Dempsey, who took his Wayne Poole Racing Van Diemen RF89 to a fine fourth place in the 2008 Walter Hayes Trophy (see photo), won the Indy Lights race at Indianapolis on May 24th.

The Irishman was placed fourth going into the final corner but a perfectly timed move to pick up a tow on the run to the flag saw Dempsey win by the narrowest of margins.
